abstract The Executive was a monthly publication which embodied the science of entrepreneurship. It covered a spectrum of business-related information which spanned the gamut of business management, finance and leadership. Articles were primarily written in a self-help fashion so readers can immediately harness these tools and techniques for their businesses. Readers consist of PMEBs from 20 to 70-year-olds. The Executive was launched by Singapore Media Press in December 2006 by Founder Alan Lim Kia Kheng, and currently is owned by Singapore Media Press Pte Ltd under the website:. The magazine serves as a business guide for entrepreneurs. Its editorial lineup is also driven by success stories, from inspiring businesspeople, ambitious startup companies to high-flying career personalities. Each month the cover story features a prominent entrepreneur from Singapore, such as Mr. Kenny Yap from Qian Hu Enterprise, Ms. Claire Chiang from Banyan Tree, Mr. Dennis Foo from St James Power Station and Mr. Adam Khoo, amongst others. These are extremely successful entrepreneurs with inspirational journeys making them. From these interviews, readers can understand the struggles behind developing a business and what it takes to make a business successful. Each interview has a wide-ranging scope of discussion whether its business finances or leadership tactics. Every interview piece makes for an engaging read, peppered with exclusive anecdotes and motivating quotes. The Executive also dishes out applicable tips to its readers which are readily adopted into their businesses, and this is something not many business magazines can boast of. Aside from highlighting current business news, the magazine guides readers along the way with articles from honing their leadership skills, managing business cash flow to even combating competition within the business marketplace. Today’s entrepreneur is also a well-heeled individual, hence a good portion of the magazine is dedicated to lifestyle articles which include travel, automobiles, gadgets, wine and dine. The magazine prides on featuring only the best restaurants around town, the best cars for the contemporary executive and the latest must-have executive gadgets. The Executive also carries a unique section every month titled The Top 25 List. This list changes every month depending on the theme of the list. Previous list featured the richest Singaporeans, most expensive properties in Singapore, richest women in Asia etc. The Executive is now available online (www. theexecutiveworld. com) and would be available in print soon after favorable economic conditions set in. There is also an Internet TV version available at:-. G2
