Ted Naifeh (born June 20, 1971) is an American comic book writer and artist who gained notoriety for his illustrations in the goth romance comic Gloomcookie. Naifeh has since become most known as the creator of the Eisner-Award-nominated series Courtney Crumrin, published by Oni Press. Other works by Naifeh include How Loathsome, which he co-created with Tristan Crane; the comic adaptation of the PSP game Death, Jr. ; Seven Seas Entertainment's Unearthly; and the Oni Press series Polly and the Pirates. Naifeh also provided illustrations for Caitlín R. Kiernan's short-fiction collection, Alabaster. Ted is currently illustrating Good Neighbors, a trilogy of graphic novels written by Holly Black and published through Scholastic.

Ted Naifeh ist ein US-amerikanischer Comiczeichner und -autor. Seine bekanntesten Arbeiten sind Gloomcookie und die Eisner Award nominierte Serie Courtney Crumrin. Naifeh begann 1990 im Comicbereich als Zeichner zu arbeiten. Seine erste veröffentlichte Arbeit war eine Adaption des Romans Shadow of the Torturer für Innovation Comics, die nach drei von sechs Heften eingestellt wurde. Weitere frühe Arbeiten von Naifeh sind The Machine und die illustrierte Kurzgeschichte The Grease Trap zusammen mit Science-Fiction Autor Joe R. Landsdale für Mojo Press. Mitte der 1990er verließ Naifeh die Comicindustrie und arbeitete als Graphiker für Accolade, ein Videospielunternehmen. 1998 kehrte er zu den Comics zurück und begann er mit der Arbeit an Gloomcookie, einer Comicserie mit Autorin Serena Valentino. Gloomcookie ist eine Sammlung zusammenhängender Kurzgeschichten, die in der Gothic-Subkultur spielten. Ted Naifeh gestaltete die ersten 6 Ausgaben der Reihe. Danach wurde die Reihe von John Gebbia (Heft 7-12), Breehn John Burns (Heft 13-17), Harley Sparx (Heft 18-23) und Vincent Batignole fortgeführt. Gloomcookie erscheint bei Slave Labor Graphics. Weitere Arbeiten von Ted Naifeh: Courtney Crumrin Polly and the Pirates How Loathsome (zusammen mit Tristan Crane, erschienen bei NBM) Death Jr. , eine Comicadaption zum gleichnamigen Videospiel.
