Lahu ist eine tibeto-birmanische Sprache, die vom Volk der Lahu in China und weiteren Ländern gesprochen wird. Während Ähnlichkeiten in Aussprache und Grammatik mit dem Koreanischen bemerkbar sind, ist dies kein Zeichen einer Verwandtschaft dieser Sprachen. Außer von den Lahu wird die Sprache auch von anderen Minderheiten in Yunnan als lingua franca gesprochen. In Thailand wird die Sprache nur selten benutzt, da sie dort nicht gelehrt wird. Lahu lässt sich in drei Dialekte einteilen, die sich gegenseitig nur mit Mühe verständlich sind.

Similarities in phonology and grammar have been noted with Korean; however, these are not generally accepted as evidence of any genetic relationship. Lahu is widely used in China, both by Lahu people, and by other ethnic minorities in Yunnan, who use it as a lingua franca. However, the language is not widely used nor taught in any schools in Thailand, where many Lahu are in fact refugees and illegal immigrants, having crossed into Thailand from Myanmar.
