The "Golden Triangle" is a term used to describe a number of leading British research universities based in London, Oxford, and Cambridge. The University of Cambridge in the city of Cambridge and the University of Oxford in the city of Oxford form two corners of the triangle. The third geographic point is London, and the University of London, represented especially by the following constituent colleges: King's College London, the London School of Economics and Political Science, University College London and Imperial College London (Imperial College London left the University of London on 8 July 2007).
